Unto us a child is born

That Christmas sentiment has a context and that context is Isaiah 8:11-9:8. Jesus came to earth because we chose darkness, we chose sin. He came to set us free from the sin that has enslaved us. And thus the hope of Christmas is all the more costly but all the more dear.
