Remain In Him

This chapter in John has recently become very important to me in my life. I rely so much on myself and my own strength to do things in my life, whether that be, sharing my faith, studying the bible with people, balancing time in my every day life. I often try to do it all by myself. This scripture explains how when I rely on myself for all these things I am producing no fruit! We NEED Jesus in our lives to produce fruit. Our main priority shouldn't be "Man, I got to go out and produce fruit today." It should be "How can I remain in Jesus today?" When we remain in Jesus and his love we allow that love to motivate us and it becomes natural to produce fruit. It becomes a reliance on God rather than a reliance of our own strength, because we on our own cannot do anything. God does all the work!
The amazing thing about this is that we get to find joy in this because all we are doing is remaining in this everlasting love as we're producing fruit through Jesus. All of this is based around love! We are motivated by love, and remain in his love! Well, what is love? This love that we are remaining in is an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), it stretches from eternity to eternity (Psalm 103:17)! That is the love we draw complete joy from!
To add to that, Jesus has also chosen us to remain in him! He wants us as a friend! When we remain in him we understand what God wants in our lives, we get to make decisions with a Godly mindset because he is always on our minds. These decisions we make and fruits we produce while remaining in Jesus will last forever!
We need to remain in Jesus' love everyday of our lives to guide our actions everyday, we cannot do it on our own! We've been chosen by God to produce this fruit for him, the King of kings, Lord of lords!
