May 28. 2 Corinthians 10. Dwight Carr

The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

In his meekness and gentleness, he continues his letter:

Paul may not be the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the first century, but he does know a thing or two. He calls them how he sees them, which we also should do. But he, like Jesus, is able to express his love for his fellow Christian when he does so. And that is how he finishes this chapter. We all should be boastful in our Love for one another. Because it is that love and compassion for one another, that will save you (singular) from your sinful nature.

Weapons

I am a US Navy Chief Firecontrolman (Ret.) I was trained on and used multiple weapons and weapon systems. I know a little bit about the fleshly warfare that mankind has developed. These modern-day swords can cause a lot of death and destruction. But we, as followers of Christ, need to rely on and use the ultimate weapon: the love of God.

Paul’s Pen

He is simply asking you (plural) Why you (plural) are not sharing this love with others? Gifts of giving, gifts of preaching, gifts of hospitality, gifts of building each other up - these are all designed to show God’s love to this hurting world. We can not cave in, and only use the “gifts of this world”, but rather carry out verse 7. “Look at what is before your eyes.” And be confident (boastful) that you (plural) have the ability to fix it.
