NT40 Convictions for James

Now here's a hard hitting book of conviction - the book of James. 

One thing I learned today...

1. About God: "Come near to God and he will come near to you" James 4:8. God desires intimacy with us, but he is eager for us desire intimacy with him. 

2. About NT Christianity: They were on their guard against favoritism. Discrimination of any sort dishonors the "royal law" to "Love your neighbor as yourself." James 2:4-9

3. DWIS (Do What It Says): Everyone (including me!) should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. James 1:19. I'll have chances to practice this today in our discipleship group, counseling meetings, and bible talk group. Plus, I better put this into practice since it is followed by James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."
