NT40 Convictions for 2nd Thessalonians and 1st Timothy

One thing I learned today...

1. About God: Here's a bit of a different flavor of observation about God, as it is about hell: "They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might" 2Thessalonians 1:9. It seems here that the real horror of hell is that we will be isolated from the presence of God. I think I understand this now, but I'm sure I'll better appreciate the presence of God in the age to come.

2. About NT Christianity: And so it continues - persecutions, trials, suffering, endurance, afflictions. These guys and gals were tough, gritty for the faith! ( 2nd Thessalonians 1:4-5)

3. DWIS (Do What It Says): Pray "for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we live peacful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness" ( 1st Timothy 2:1-2). I rarely, if ever, pray intentionally for our governmental leaders. Today I will do exactly that.
